TAILORING & DRESSMAKING

6-month technical training course teaching the garment-making trade, followed by learning how to run a business.

  • This is a technical training course that allows refugee youths to learn the trade of garment making.  At RAI we go the extra mile to ensure learners gain practical professional experience by placing them with skilled, expert tailors within their communities as apprentices for 2 months. After course completion, learners have the skills, confidence, and inspiration to become seasoned tailors.

DIGITAL SKILLS

Digital skills reduce the digital literacy and gender gap by providing essential concepts and practical skills necessary to navigate and utilize digital tools effectively.

  • RAI offers digital skills training in Basic ICT and Advanced ICT classes. The Basic ICT (Information and Communication Technology) training course is designed to provide individuals with foundational knowledge and skills in various aspects of computing and technology. Advanced ICT classes trains on IT Support Professional is designed to equip learners with the fundamental skills needed for an entry-level job in IT support. The course covers a wide range of topics, including troubleshooting, customer service, operating systems, system administration, networking, security, and automation.

TAILORING & DRESSMAKING

6-month technical training course teaching the garment-making trade, followed by learning how to run a business.

  • We offer two English Language trainings: Communicative English language classes designed for youths in need of communicative skills for day to day interactions; and Global English Learning (GEL) for youths seeking an academic pathway to college such as certificate or diploma in bridging courses. In partnership with Jesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL) refugee youths have access to 6 levels of English training through GEL: A1, A2, B1, B1+, B2, and C1. On the other hand communicative English language offers training in two levels: Beginners English and Intermediate English. Learners who complete communicative English have the opportunity to transition into GEL training or resume activities in the community understanding basic English in its written and oral forms.

A Solar-powered Popsicle Factory

Providing production capacity for electricity consumption and bolstering the refugees‘ purchasing power

  • The Icepop Factory is a transformative initiative aiming to enhance refugee livelihoods by providing production capacity for electricity consumption and bolstering their purchasing power. Collaborating with Chinese manufacturers, it delivers ice pop machines and DC refrigerators to refugee camps, fostering economic development and integrating financial means for energy hardware accessibility. This project not only improves living conditions but also stimulates local economies, offering refugees more opportunities and benefits.
